Reports from French media outlet Buzzsport claim that Marseille are set to rival Leeds United in the race to sign highly-rated Juventus forward Moise Kean.

The 18-year old has fallen out of favour at the Italian club, making just two appearances all season, including a brief cameo in Juve’s Champions League clash against BSC Young Boys.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men had recently been linked with a move to land the young forward in January, but reports have now surfaced that Marseille, as well as Italian clubs Parma, Empoli and Bologna, are all looking to pursue his signature in January.

Bielsa will look to strengthen his squad ahead of the second-half of the campaign, as the Whites look to put pressure on table-toppers Norwich City.

Kemar Roofe has led the line magnificently well for United this term, but with Patrick Bamford still out with injury, another addition up front wouldn’t go amiss in January.

The Whites currently sit 2nd in the Championship table, four points clear off 3rd place West Brom.

The Verdict

This could prove to be a huge blow for Leeds.

Kean is an exceptional talent, and with the likes of Marseille now being linked with the youngster, it shows just how much of a coup it would be to land him.

That task looks to have gotten a whole lot tougher now however, with European interest reportedly emerging.
