Leeds United are one of several clubs monitoring talented Fulham youngster Matt O'Riley as they line up a move for the midfielder in this window.

The 18-year-old is highly-rated at Craven Cottage and has featured in the League Cup over the past two seasons but he has not made the matchday squad for a league game.

And, Sky Sports are reporting that various clubs are keen on the teenager, including Championship duo Leeds United and Norwich City.

However, they would face a real battle to persuade O'Riley to join with Celtic, Rangers, Stuttgart, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund also showing an interest.

The chance to move to Germany may appeal to the youngster, with Jadon Sancho the most high-profile example of an English youngster making the move to the Bundesliga to Dortmund and his career has taken off.

The report states that scouts from the German clubs were present as the midfielder starred in a recent 3-1 win over Manchester United for the Cottagers U23s.

O'Riley is a technically gifted midfielder and has represented England at various youth levels.

The Verdict

Clearly, the Fulham man is in-demand and that should tell you about the qualities that he has.

Therefore, if Leeds could convince him to Elland Road it would be a real coup for the Championship leaders and he is the type of player that could thrive under Bielsa.

The London outfit will be reluctant to sell but O'Riley might feel it's the right time to move in his career as he looks to get regular football.
