Leeds United have emerged as a potential destination for outbound Chievo Verona striker Caleb Ekuban, according to a recent report in Italy.

Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (reported via Sport Witness) have claimed that Caleb Ekuban is set to leave Chievo Verona this summer with Leeds United possibly his next club.

Leeds have previously been linked with Caleb Ekuban.

Ghana Soccer Net have reported in the past that Leeds United are leading the multiple club chase for Ekuban.

However, those rumours died down and Leeds have instead been linked with the likes of CD Huesca attacking midfielder or striker Samu Saiz and FC Lugano winger Ezjgan Alioski.

But this recent report have put Leeds back in the frame to sign Caleb Ekuban.

The Italian-born Ghanian striker is preparing to leave AC Chievo Verona, who currently play in Serie A.

Ekuban is reportedly ready to trade the Italian top division for Leeds United, if Gazetta dello Sport is to be believed.

This report claims that the 23-year-old is "directed towards" Leeds United and mentions no other clubs being linked with him.

The wording remains ambiguous and it is difficult to tell what they mean by "directed towards" but it could suggest that Ekuban is on his way to Elland Road.

Leeds are searching for a new striker to provide competition for goal machine Chris Wood.
