Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United are still in talks with Dan James' representatives ahead of a potential summer move, according to reports from Football Insider.

The winger has been a standout performer for Swansea City this season, and took his tally up to four goals and six assists for the campaign after a strike against Brentford in midweek.

The 21-year old was heavily linked with a move to Elland Road in January, but Swansea pulled the plug in the closing stages of deadline day, despite undergoing a medical and agreeing a loan-to-buy deal worth around £10million.

James has gone from strength to strength since his blocked move to Leeds, and after catching the eye in a magnificent display for Wales against Slovakia last week, Premier League champions Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the player.

But reports have now emerged claiming that the Whites have maintained dialogue with James' camp, and remain interested in signing the exciting attacker in the summer. It is believed that talks are ongoing behind-the-scenes regarding James' career and how he can improve his game under Marcelo Bielsa.

Bielsa's men currently sit 2nd in the league table after an enthralling 3-2 win against Millwall last time out.

The Verdict

Given what has happened since James was denied of a move to Leeds, it would be a massive coup for the Whites to land his signature now.

He has been exceptional this season, and has certainly put himself in the shop window after a string of eye-catching displays for both club and country.

Leeds are obviously keen to sign him, and he would be a tremendous player under Bielsa in my view.
