Leeds United in talks to sign former loan star from Premier League club

Published

on

Leeds United have already entered discussions to bolster their squad ahead of next season after the Yorkshire Evening Post confirmed that talks have commenced with Swansea City over the availability of Kyle Bartley.

It is thought that the Swans are willing to listen to bids for the 26-year-old defender and that has alerted Leeds, who have placed their former loan star right at the top of their summer list of targets.

The former Arsenal trainee proved his worth to Leeds during a temporary stint at Elland Road during the 2016/17 campaign and he helped the Whites challenge for a play-off place, adhering himself to the club’s supporters in the process.

Any potential deal that sees the central defender leave the Liberty Stadium is thought to be subject to whether or not the Swans secure their Premier League status and in the event the club are relegated they may look to keep hold of the player who has previously proved his Championship credentials.

Since the arrival of Paul Heckingbottom at Leeds clean sheets have proved hard to come by and the signing of a quality central defender is naturally their number one target for the summer.

Leeds United fans, would you welcome Bartley back to Elland Road? Let us know in the comments below!!!
