Leeds United are looking likely to pip several Premier League clubs to Bury defender Morgan Sadler, after reportedly opening negotiations with the Shakers.

Football Insider reports that they're now in talks with Ryan Lowe's side to take the former Manchester City youngster to Elland Road after he caught the eye of scouts recently.

The 15-year old centre back looks set to join the youth set up at Elland Road, already responsible for the likes of Ronaldo Vieira and Tom Pearce.

Already a Welsh youth international, Sadler was spotted by Manchester City playing for Borras Park Albion at the age of 13. Despite supporting Manchester United, a switch to the Premier League giants was too good to turn down.

He later joined the Shakers where his progress has continued. He was a regular in the Bury’s Under-18 side last season and featured for the first team in the Lancashire Senior Cup final against Fleetwood.

The Verdict

There's certainly a buzz around the youngster, and Leeds might be pulling of a mini-coup by securing him to a deal at Elland Road.

There are so many variables with a young player, so many things that can affect his development or progress, but without meaning any disrespect he's more likely to get the right training at a side like Leeds, with a reputation for bringing young players through.

Bury will be compensated adequately and that means this will be a good deal all round.
