Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United are one of many high-profile clubs interested in making a move in the summer for American forward Gyasi Zardes, according to reports from Teamtalk.
The 27-year old is a renowned goalscorer across the pond, and was influential for Columbus Crew in the MLS last term, scoring 20 goals in thirty-eight games for the American outfit.
The powerful forward, who has made over forty appearances for the United States of America national side, is said to be interesting a host of clubs in England, who will look to pursue his signature in the summer.
Leeds’ current promotion rivals Middlesbrough and Norwich are said to be interested, along with a host of Premier League clubs in Crystal Palace, Fulham and Huddersfield Town.
Leeds will be hoping that they are also in the top flight when they look to lure Zardes to Elland Road – Marcelo Bielsa’s men currently lead the way in the Sky Bet Championship table and sit four points clear of the play-off places, after a comfortable 2-0 home win over Derby County on Friday night.
This is a really interesting development – I’ve known about Zardes for a few years now, and from what I have seen, he could be a tremendous signing for Leeds.
He’s tall, quick, powerful and has an eye for goal, and could be a perfect addition to what is already a talented Whites front-line.
I personally cannot see this move happening if Leeds are still in the Championship, but who knows what may happen if Bielsa’s men secure promotion this term?
