Pontus Jansson has confirmed to Fotbollskanalen, that he is in talks with Leeds United over a permanent switch to Elland Road.

Jansson has been a hit since joining from Torino and has won over the fans with a number of dominating defensive displays.

The towering 6'5'' defender has formed a successful centre back partnership with fellow loan star Kyle Bartley and Leeds fans will be hoping to tie Jansson, if not both, down to a permanent deal.

There are reports that the deal automatically becomes permanent, for a fee of around £3.6m, if Jansson plays 20 games for the Yorkshire side.

The 25-year-old has already played seven times and Leeds have won in five of those matches.

They have also only conceded four goals whilst Jansson has been present in defence.

The Sweden international is on a season-long loan from Serie A side Torino, having previously played for Malmo in his native country.

The deal seems to suit all three parties so Leeds are keen to tie it up soon in case Jansson attracts interest from other clubs.

Leeds fans - what do you think? How important is it to complete this permanent deal? Is £3.6m a fair price? Should you also be looking at making Bartley's deal permanent?
