Leeds United are closing in on Manchester United’s young starlet, Ashley Fletcher, according to the Sun.
The 20-year-old striker spent the past season on loan at Barnsley playing a major role in their success in the Football League Trophy victory as well as their playoff success.
Since the season’s close, Fletcher has been attracting attention from a number of Championship sides including his most recent team Barnsley, as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bristol City.
However, it appears that Leeds United are most likely to close in on the Premier League striker with Leeds United’s controversial owner Massimo Cellino reportedly keen to sign the youngster.
The news comes as a surprise because Fletcher’s parent club, Manchester United were hoping to keep the 20-year-old striker at the club.
However it is now looking likely that Fletcher will move and it is a matter of Leeds United agreeing a transfer fee with the Premier League side and then offering Fletcher an improved salary for him to leave the Premier League side.
