Pierre-Michel Lasogga has hinted that a Premier League move could potentially be on the cards in the summer for the on-loan Leeds United forward.

Speaking to Sky Germany – and reported by Leeds Live - the striker has been discussing his future, with his loan deal with Leeds in the Sky Bet Championship set to come to an end following the final eight fixtures of the season.

Lasogga joined Leeds on-loan from Hamburg in the summer, with the striker moving to discuss his plans for next season with the German media.

The 26-year-old initially remained coy on what the future would hold, he said: “I'm still a player at Hamburger SV and will see what happens in the summer.”

However, when asked about a potential shot at top-flight football in England, Lasogga continued: “Maybe a childhood dream will come true.”

This year in the Championship has been an inconsistent one for Lasogga, who has been part of a Leeds squad who have failed to mount a serious push for promotion.

Lasogga has 10 goals to his name in the Championship, but has failed to score now in over a month, with his last goal for Leeds coming in the 2-2 draw with Derby County.

Before he returns to Germany in the summer, Lasogga will be hoping to add to his 10-goal tally in the remaining eight fixtures of the season, which begins with Friday afternoon’s clash with Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road.

The Verdict

Lasogga’s year has been a strange one at Elland Road, as the striker hasn’t found the consistency required to cut it in the Championship.

At times, Lasogga has looked a real handful, but on other occasions he has really struggled to have any sort of impact.

Whether a Premier League club decides to take a punt on the German is seriously up for debate, and by the time the summer comes, Lasogga could be in for a shock if he is expecting a queue of top-flight clubs in the race to sign him.
