Stuart Dallas has spoken of the immediate impact that Ian Poveda made after joining Leeds United.

The Whites completed the signing of the 19-year-old on Friday evening as he agreed a three-and-a-half year deal at Elland Road after leaving Manchester City.

Poveda is regarded as a real talent for the future and according to Dallas, the starlet made a real first impression on the squad.

Asked for his verdict on Poveda, as quoted by Leeds Live, Dallas said: “(He's) fast, direct. Never seen a player take to a group so quick. Lively, taken really well to the lads,” Dallas said.

“It's nice to welcome new faces.

“We did the murderball on Thursday or Friday and I was up against him. Found out how quick he was. Skillful, two good feet.”

The verdict

Ian Poveda is a player who looks set to get supporters on their feet.

He was clearly highly-rated at Manchester City but with such competition for places it perhaps explains why a move to Leeds United made sense for the winger.

Marcelo Bielsa is regarded by many as one of the best football managers ever and the hope is that Poveda will learn huge amounts under his tutelage.

If the 19-year-old can get anywhere near his potential then the Whites have got one heck of a player on their hands.
