It was a memorable night for Leeds United.

While the senior side were resting up ahead of the weekend's clash with Nottingham Forest, the stars of tomorrow were pitting their wits against a familiar foe.

The Whites' under-18 side travelled to face Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup as the two sides reignited an old rivalry.

While the night ended in defeat for the young side, it was still a night to remember for the West Yorkshire side.

An impressive 1400 fans made the trip to Old Trafford to witness the stars of tomorrow against the Red Devils - a show of support that didn't go unnoticed among the first team stars.

One of Marcelo Bielsa's squad were among the travelling fans with Jamie Shackleton making the trip to Manchester.

Not only was he in attendance, but he was at the heart of the support as he was caught on video starting chants in support of the young Whites.

Can you remember Leeds' first 12 results this season?

The verdict

This is something that Leeds United fans will love to see.

Jamie Shackleton is a real fans' favourite among supporters after coming through the youth ranks at Elland Road.

The fact that he took time out to go with the travelling fans to watch the youngsters against Manchester United says a huge amount about his allegiance to the club.

He could have easily stayed at home in preparation for the weekend, but his attendance at Old Trafford will be huge for his reputation among the supporters.
