It’s been a tough three months, but finally there’s light at the end of the tunnel for Leeds United, who returned to training yesterday at Thorp Arch.

Leeds haven’t kicked a ball in the Championship since the opening weekend of March, with the EFL on hold as public safety takes priority up and down the country.

However, plans are in place for the season’s resume, with Leeds and their Championship rivals given the green light to return to training yesterday.

Quiz: Have Leeds United done these 15 things in the last 10 years? – Yes or no?

The agreement is that a return to training is ‘non contact’ as the players adhere to social distancing rulings.

Now, that has prompted a picture for the scrapbook, with Tyler Roberts and Kalvin Phillips posing for the cameras at Elland Road.

Standing a considerable distance apart, Roberts has his arm around nobody, whilst Phillips’ contagious smile lights up Thorp Arch once more:

In terms of the next steps and returning to playing, Leeds are looking to cash-in on a table topping position when the football can eventually start again.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are a point clear of West Brom and, more importantly, seven ahead of Fulham, who hold the biggest threat to the top-two.

The Verdict

Leeds fans are going to love this.

Roberts and Phillips are two of the likeable lads in Bielsa’s squad and the former’s involvement in this picture looks like going viral on the LUFC hashtag.

It’s great to see Leeds back training and with a smile on their face.
