Leeds United fans will have returned home despondent from their trip to the IPro Stadium last night.

The Whites looked set to pick up Paul Heckingbottom's first win in charge at Elland Road and the club's first victory of 2018 as they entered stoppage time 2-1 ahead thanks to goals from Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Ezgjan Alioski.

The wait continues however, as Chelsea loanee Kasey Palmer struck with seconds remaining to equalise.

However, one young fan could be forgiven for leaving Derby with a beaming smile on his face despite the late disappointment on the pitch.

He took the time to make a banner asking talismanic Leeds defender Pontus Jansson for his shirt and the Swede duly obliged, picking the lad out from the crowd and giving him a moment he will never forget.

The Verdict

You can tell from the reaction of the Leeds fans here how well they reacted to the performance last night and how popular Jansson is among their number.

It's a mark of class to take the time to make a little kid's night even after experiencing a crushing late blow - not every player would approach the fans after conceding so late on.

The young lad will cherish his new gift and it's a shame more players don't take it on themselves to act this way.
