Stuart Dallas has paid tribute to the Leeds United fans, after the team continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-0 win at Stoke City at the weekend.

The 28-year-old has started all five of Leeds' matches in the Championship so far this season at right-back in the absence of the injured Luke Ayling and scored his first goal of the campaign on Saturday afternoon.

Dallas opened the scoring in the first half, before second-half goals from Ezgjan Alioski and Patrick Bamford gave Leeds a comfortable victory and ensured they retain their place at the top of the Championship table after five matches.

After the game, Dallas paid tribute to the Leeds supporters and insisted that they have played their part in the team's strong start to the season.

"It's incredible. They sell out that away end every other week and at Elland Road as well," said Dallas, as quoted by the LeedsLive.

"There are no better fans to play in front of and I'm not just saying that. That's me being honest. It's incredible the support they give you, they really drive you on when times are hard.

"They've stuck with us when times have been hard over recent years and hopefully we can reward them with performances like that on a regular basis and we'll see how far it takes us."

Leeds are now unbeaten in their last six matches and face Stoke again in their next game at Elland Road in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.

The Verdict

It's easy to understand what Dallas is saying here. Leeds have always had fantastic support, both home and away. Their support must really drive the players on and give them extra motivation to get the three points.

Leeds have made a strong start to the new season and the supporters have to take some credit for that for the way they've got behind the team.

Dallas was an important player for Leeds last season and he's made a very encouraging start to the new campaign at right-back.

His goal against Stoke at the weekend should give him a confidence boost too.
