Leeds United’s players switch their attentions back to their promotion bid in the Championship this week.
A number of Marcelo Bielsa’s men have been away on international duty, but with no injuries reported, he’ll be keen to have his key players available this weekend.
The Whites take on Barnsley in what could be a potentially tricky test for Bielsa’s side at Oakwell on Sunday.
One player that is likely to feature in the game is Mateusz Klich, who has recently turned out for Poland’s national side in their Euro 2020 qualifiers this week.
The midfielder is clearly looking forward to returning to Leeds though, as he issued an update on his Instagram page.
Klich has been a key member of the Leeds squad since he joined them back in June 2017.
The 29-year-old has started in all of Leeds’ opening six league games this season, and will be hoping that he can build on some impressive performances.
The Whites are currently third in the league table, and will be hoping they can bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Swansea City before the international break.
But the game against Barnsley won’t be easy by any means, and Klich and his Leeds team-mates will have to be at their best to come away with an important three points on the day.
A win would see them return to the top of the Championship table, providing other results go their way.
He’s going to be a key player for Leeds this season.
I still think that the club need to tie Klich down to a new deal at the earliest of opportunities, so that they can deter any potential interest in his services in the January transfer window.
He strikes me as the sort of player that wouldn’t have a problem in adjusting to the demands of Premier League football in the future.
