Leeds United have been linked with a surprise move for West Ham winger, Robert Snodgrass according to insider, EXWHUEmployee in an interview on The West Ham Way podcast (Thursday 20th June).

Snodgrass made 33 appearances for the Hammers last season in the Premier League, and Leeds' reported interest will certainly come as a surprise.

The insider does also claim that West Ham aren't keen on selling or loaning Snodgrass out ahead of next season though, so it will be interesting to see whether the Whites submit a formal offer for their former player.

Snodgrass spent four years with Leeds earlier in his career, before moving to Norwich City to play in the Premier League in 2012.

But if you're a Leeds United supporter then you're certainly going to be excited after hearing of this latest rumour, as the Scotsman is someone that can certainly offer something for Marcelo Bielsa's side next season.

He could feel as though he has unfinished business in the Championship as well, after struggling with Aston Villa in the 2017/2018 season.

It would be the perfect fit for Snodgrass to return to Elland Road as well, with Leeds needing wingers ahead of next season, as they target promotion into the Premier League.

Jack Harrison has returned to Manchester City from his loan spell with the Whites, so it leaves Bielsa desperately short on options in wide areas.

Pablo Hernandez and Jack Clarke are the only recognised senior options that the Leeds boss has available to him at this moment in time, so there is no doubt in saying that Leeds need more depth before the season gets underway.

Snodgrass would add some much-needed experience to the Leeds team as well, and he knows the club inside and out, which is something that Leeds have been missing in recent years.

If he was to arrive, then it would take some of the weight off of Pablo Hernandez's shoulders to provide the creative spark for this Leeds side, who have been reliant on the Spaniard for much of last season.

An interesting few weeks are ahead for Leeds supporters, and they'll know that it's set to be a potentially season-defining transfer window for Marcelo Bielsa's side before their season gets underway in August.
