Footage has emerged of the famous win that Marcelo Bielsa's Athletic Bilbao side picked up at Old Trafford against Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson.

With all EFL fixtures suspended until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic, football fans are having to find other ways of getting their fix of the beautiful game.

That has often included looking back into the archives and Leeds fans have been treated to a throwback by Juani Jimena on Twitter.

Jimena has posted highlights of Bilbao's famous 3-2 win at Old Trafford back in 2012, a game which saw Bielsa's side shock many and dominate the Red Devils on their home turf.

The swashbuckling style that the Spanish side played that evening will be very familiar to Leeds fans as it is similar to the style the Whites have played under the Argentine.

Back in 2012, it saw their historic rivals Manchester United slip to defeat in the first leg of their Europa League knock-out tie as Ferguson and his men had few answers for Bielsaball.

A week later, they did it again. Bielsa's Bilbao won the second-leg 2-1 to knock the Red Devils out and progress to the Quarter-Finals of the competition.

Leeds fans will no doubt be hoping that they get the opportunity to see Bielsaball have a similar impact against Manchester United in the Premier League next season.

The Verdict

Leeds fans should love this footage, which shows their historic rivals Manchester United comprehensively defeated by Bielsa.

Not only that, Sir Alex Ferguson was at the helm at the time and unable to do anything to stop it.

With no EFL football on the foreseeable future, you feel this footage will go down well with the Elland Road faithful.
