The Garry Monk era at Leeds United got underway today, as the Whites completed the signing of Marcus Antonsson on a three-year deal.

Becoming the first signing of the former Swansea City bosses tenure at Elland Road, the 25-year old Swede joins from Kalmar FF.

While it is never quite clear just who is buying the players at the club, Monk has waxed poetic over the forward's movement and mental strength.

He also claims to have scouted him for a while, so perhaps this deal could represent a new dawn for the Yorkshire giants.

However, with Massimo Cellino in control, Leeds fans around the world will be wise to approach any feelings of optimism with an element of caution.

Still, ahead of yet another season in the second tier of English football, the signing of a forward who bagged 22 goals in 40 games since January 2015 has proved to be a rather exciting one for Leeds fans.

Here's how Twitter saw it.

How good a signing could this be for Leeds?
