Leeds United have had a sensational start to the Championship season, unbeaten in their first six league games, sitting top of the table.

Marcelo Bielsa has been a breath of fresh air at Elland Road with his high-intensity approach to matches.

And according to talkSPORT, who have used a ‘supercomputer’ to predict how the Championship will finish, the radio station has revealed that United will gain automatic promotion to the Premier League.

If current form and performance levels can be maintained through the harsh winter months, coming into the spring, and the business end of the season, then that prediction might not be far off.

Two draws and four wins have been recorded so far, having dropped points only to Swansea City and more recently Middlesbrough, who sit second in the division on goal difference.

Leeds face Millwall at The Den in their first fixture back after the international break, anything other than defeat would see them continue their unbeaten start to the new campaign and continue them well on their way to proving the ‘supercomputer’ right.

The Verdict

It is all conjecture, this ‘supercomputer’ stuff - this is the same function that predicted Leeds would finish in the top six last term - and they didn’t even make the top half.

It is a bit of fun for fans to get on board with during the international break to pass the time, but it should not be read in to with any real substance.

While Leeds fans will be happy that some device has predicted a second-place finish, all that matters is that the reality becomes what is predicted come May.

Anything less than that and the United fans will not be interested in novel predictions.
