Leeds United are unlikely to sign Alfonso Pedraza on a permanent deal, according to a report by The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Alfonso Pedraza joined Leeds United on loan in the January transfer window and the Championship outfit had an option to buy clause in the Villarreal attacker’s deal.

The 21-year-old has shown glimpses of his talent and potential during his loan spell with Leeds.

However, this report reveals that Leeds United were committed to completing a permanent deal for Alfonso Pedraza in the upcoming transfer window but that hinged on them winning promotion to the Premier League.

With Leeds United finishing seventh and being consigned to another year in the second tier, The Yorkshire Evening Post confirms that the Spaniard will not return to Leeds United for a second year, especially at the touted price of £10m.

In other news, they confirmed that Mo Barrow and Matt Grimes would return to Swansea after their ineffectual loan stints.

Leeds fans – is this a shame? Would you have liked Pedraza at the club permanently? Let us know below…
