Leeds United look set to miss out on one of their transfer targets, as Reading swoop to sign Andy Yiadom on a free this summer.

Paul Heckingbottom had been keen on a reunion with Yiadom at Elland Road, with the Barnsley defender leaving the Tykes on a free this summer.

However, Leeds have not pursued their initial interest, which has opened the door for Reading to move in, with a medical expected late this week.

Yiadom, who can operate at left or right-back, has been with Barnsley for two years, impressing in the Championship. However, with the Tykes heading for League One, he will leave for free this summer.

The Reading Chronicle have confirmed that the 26-year-old will agree a four-year deal with Paul Clement’s side, with Leeds missing out on the versatile defender.

Leeds already have plenty of options in the full-back roles, which has led to us, here at FLW, asking their supporters if they are fussed about missing out on Yiadom’s signature.

The Elland Road faithful don’t seem fazed about missing out on Yiadom, with 84% of voters in our poll claiming they are not fussed by the defender’s pending move to Reading.
