Former Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio has posted an update on social media that is sure to interest fans of the Championship club.

The 35-year-old posted a photo on his personal Instagram story of his son wearing a Leeds shirt, followed by a video of his son kissing the club crest.

Becchio scored 86 goals in 219 appearances for the Leeds between 2008 and 2013 and was a popular player at Elland Road.

The Whites' automatic promotion hopes suffered a major blow over the Easter weekend, as the team lost back-to-back games against Wigan Athletic and Brentford.

Marcelo Bielsa's side are now second in the Championship table, three points behind second-placed Sheffield United and have an inferior goal difference.

The team now look set to miss out on automatic promotion and must win both of their final two matches against Aston Villa and Ipswich Town to stand any chance of achieving a top-two finish.

Becchio was a fan favourite at Elland Road and I'm sure Leeds fans will love his latest social media update.

The former striker clearly still has a soft spot for his former club and has posted various messages about them on his Instagram account throughout the season.

Becchio will no doubt be hoping to see his former club end the season with promotion to the Premier League, but after recent results, it now looks like the team will have to do it via the play-offs.
