Tyler Roberts has admitted that the main thing he enjoys about playing for Leeds United is the fans and the special atmosphere that they create at Elland Road.

The 20-year-old forward was an important player for Leeds last season, scoring three goals and providing six assists for his teammates in 28 Championship appearances.

Roberts joined Leeds from West Bromwich Albion on transfer deadline day in January 2018, but he did not make his debut for the club until the start of last season.

The forward enjoyed his first full season with Leeds and has admitted that the main thing he enjoys about playing for the club is the fans at Elland Road.

"The main thing I love about playing for Leeds United is the fans and the atmosphere that they create at Elland Road," Roberts said.

Leeds just missed out on promotion from the Championship last season, losing to Derby County in the play-off semi-finals and will be expected to challenge for promotion again this coming season.

Roberts admitted that he enjoys the pressure of playing for a big club like Leeds, where the expectation is to win promotion.

"I love the players, the group of players are fantastic. Everyone is together, everyone wants the same thing," he added.

"I like the pressure of the club and the expectation that we have to be in the Premier League - I like playing under pressure."

Roberts was speaking during an interview with TransUnion, who have been announced as the new sponsors of the South Stand at Elland Road.

The Verdict

Roberts was an important player for Leeds last season and I think he'll be pleased with the progress he made during his first full season at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa was able to get the best out of him and I'm sure the forward will be hoping that he can play another important role this season, as Leeds push for promotion.

Leeds have always had fantastic support, so it's no surprise that one of the main things Roberts enjoys about playing for the club is the fans.

Elland Road has one of the best atmospheres in the country and I'm sure Roberts and his Leeds teammates will be hoping to turn it into a fortress this season.
