Ben White is set to be a man in-demand this summer, with Leeds United not the only club interested in luring the centre-back out of Brighton and Hove Albion on a permanent basis.

Leeds have nurtured White’s talents since last summer, with the 22-year-old developing at a rapid rate at Elland Road, helping the Whites to the top of the Championship table in the process.

On the back of that, The Athletic have reported that should Leeds win promotion, they will target a permanent deal for the defender that’s featured in every minute in the Championship this season.

Yet, rivalling the Whites could be some high-profile names from the English game, with The Athletic stating that Liverpool have been monitoring White all season, whilst both the red and blue half of Manchester are keen on the Brighton loanee.

Getting White out of Brighton might not be that easy, however, with Graham Potter looking for centre-back’s of White’s ilk as he looks to morph the Seagulls into the ball-playing unit he wants.

White’s immediate attention will be on delivering promotion for Leeds, who are top of the Championship table and seven points clear of third placed Fulham.

The Verdict

White is an exceptional talent, who has truly lit up Elland Road this season with his classy defensive displays.

It is no surprise that Leeds are facing competition from the likes of Liverpool, Man City and Man United for his signature, and if you were Brighton, you’d be happy enough to see all this going on in the background whilst also plotting to keep him on board.

The summer transfer window, whenever that might be, is going to be some bun fight for White.
