Leeds United are reportedly in the market to sign Italian striker Emanuele Calaio, according to HITC Sport.

Leeds face strong competition for Calaio

They are however,  face stiff competition from three Italian clubs for the Catania player.

News reports in Italy are suggesting that Chievo Verona, Livorno and Cagliari are all monitoring the situation and could be about to make a move for the 33-year-old.

Calaio has played for a number of clubs during his career, including Napoli and Siena.

The Whites are still said to be in the market for a striker despite the recent arrival of Scottish talisman Lee Erwin, who will compliment Billy Sharp, Steve Morison and Mirco Antenucci in Leeds' striking department.

Much has been said about the future of Sharp and Morison and remains to be seen whether those two may be sold in order to make way for a new signing - possibly Calaio.

Calaio is attracting interest on the back of last season where he netted 18 goals for Catania.
