Leeds United eyeing up starlet as replacement for Charlie Taylor

Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United are interested in signing Walsall starlet Rico Henry should the expected departure of Charlie Taylor take place, according to the Mirror.

Current left-back Taylor is likely to leave the club in the near future, and has stalled on signing on a new deal with Premier League sides such as Burnley interested. However, owner Massimo Cellino is trying his best to refuse the 22-year-old’s exit.

As a potential replacement for Taylor, new manager Garry Monk is looking at signing 19-year-old Henry from League One side Walsall, who finished a point off of the automatic promotion places in the third tier last season.

However, the Football League Young Player of the Year nominee has been linked with Premier League sides such as Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham United, and it remains to be seen whether the youngster leaves the Saddlers this summer.

For his age, the full-back has already appeared in a number of professional games, accumulating almost 50 appearances for his club since making his debut less than two years ago.

The England Under-19 international is without doubt one of the hottest prospects in the Football League, and he is expected to grow into a great player.

Leeds fans… what do you make of the news? Would you like to see Henry join your club? Would he be a suitable replacement for Taylor if he was to leave? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
