Leeds United have reportedly registered their interest in signing Blackburn Rovers youngster Luke Brennan according to Football Insider.

Brennan has been a regular for Blackburn's Under-23s side this season, although their season has been concluded prematurely due to recent events.

The winger has been with Rovers since signing for them at Under-7s level, and he'll be hoping to have his long-term future resolved heading into the summer.

Brennan is yet to make his first-team debut for the Lancashire-based club, although it appears as though he's already caught the eye with some impressive showings to date for Blackburn.

Leeds are currently sat top of the Championship table, and are seven points clear of third-placed Fulham with just nine matches remaining in this year's campaign.

However, that push for promotion into the Premier League has been put on hold for the time being, with recent off-the-field events calling a halt to fixtures across the EFL.

The Elland Road faithful could be forgiven for having one eye on potential life in the Premier League, as they have been the team to beat for much of this year's campaign.

The Verdict:

This could prove to be a smart signing by Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Brennan is a young talent that clearly has something about him if Leeds United are targeting a move for him heading into the summer transfer window.

You have to trust Bielsa's judgement when it comes to potential signings like this, as they'll know exactly what they want out of a player.

He could thrive under the management and coaches at Leeds United if he signed for them.
