Leeds United want to sign Tottenham Hotspur pair Juan Foyth and Cameron Carter-Vickers on loan, according to The Yorkshire Post.

Marcelo Bielsa is looking to kick-start his summer transfer activity by landing the two Spurs defenders on loan deals for next season.

Carter-Vickers spent last year on loan in the Championship with Sheffield United and Ipswich Town and he signed a new contract with Spurs this summer.

But he could be set for another loan stint in the second tier, with Leeds taking a keen interest in the USA international.

The 20-year-old centre-half played 17 games for Ipswich after making 18 appearances for the Blades earlier in the year.

Alongside Carter-Vickers, Bielsa is eyeing up a move for his fellow Argentine Foyth, who also plays at centre-back.

The 20-year-old joined from Estudiantes last summer but only made eight appearances for Spurs last term.

With a number of players blocking his route to the first-team, the Argentina under-20 international could be set for a loan move this summer with Bielsa hopeful of bringing the 6ft 1in defender to Elland Road.

Bielsa hopes to use his relationship with Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Tottenham, to land these deals.

The Verdict

Carter-Vickers showed signs that he could become a very good defender at Sheffield United and Ipswich but he is far from the finished product.

Likewise with Foyth, there is plenty of talent there but a lack of experience is concerning.

Perhaps Bielsa should bring one of these two in on loan and also target a move for Kyle Bartley, especially if Pontus Jansson departs.
