The Argentinean striker is a free agent having recently departed from Bergano where he had signed a short-term deal with the club who are from his native country.

New Leeds boss Steve Evans is seemingly a big fan of the talisman having taken him to Rotherham United for a short loan spell last season, although the player was unfortunate to break his ankle which prematurely ended his time at the New York Stadium.

Becchio spent five years at Elland Road from 2008 until 2013 and amassed 75 goals in 190 appearances, acting as inspirational figure as the club won promotion to the Championship.

Leeds were disappointing in a 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday and Evans is keen to add more goals to his new club.

Becchio’s arrival is likely to be Evans’ first new recruit whilst he has already stated that a goalkeeper will be on his list of priorities too.

Leeds fans… What would Becchio bring the club? Can he get back to his previous best? What is your favourite memory of his previous time with the club? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
