Leeds United are eyeing a swoop for Kilmarnock striker, Eamonn Brophy according to the Daily Mail's live transfer blog  (10th January, 12:25pm).

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form this season, and already has eight goals to his name in the Scottish Premier League and has helped Kilmarnock stage a surprise title bid.

Steve Clarke's side are currently sat 3rd in the league table, and Brophy has played a starring role in that positive start to the season.

The forward is a former Celtic trainee and has also represented the Scotland under 21's side, so he'll be hoping to progress his development as the season goes on.

It remains to be seen as to whether a formal bid will be submitted by Leeds, but it's likely that Brophy will be a man in demand this month after such an impressive start to the season.

It will come as no surprise to see Marcelo Bielsa in the market for an attacker, as Leeds have suffered a number of injuries to first-team players which have left them desperately short of options.

Although it remains difficult to see where Brophy would feature in this Leeds team, he could be a useful option to call upon when needed, with a number of games to come for the promotion chasing Whites.

The Verdict:

I don't think they need to sign him.

Leeds already have the likes of Kemar Roofe, Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts in their squad and I struggle to see Brophy getting in ahead of any of them.

If the youngster cares about his development in the professional game, then he'll do everything he can to avoid a move to Leeds at all costs.
