Leeds United could be in line to land former Real Madrid youth player Emiliano Buendia, according to respected journalist Alan Nixon.

The 20-year-old forward is currently on loan with Spanish side Leonesa, who have recently come to an agreement with Leeds United regarding the development and use of players between the two clubs.

Buendia is currently on loan with the club from his parent club Getafe, and has already been capped by Argentina at under-2o level. Despite his age, he has already made 35 appearances for Getafe and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects at the club at the moment.

The signing would represent another coup for Leeds and manager Thomas Christiansen, who have made a habit this summer of signing relative unknown's who have gone on to make tremendous starts to the season for the Whites.

Leeds currently sit top of the pile in the Championship despite losing to Millwall yesterday, and will be hoping to press on in the coming months in order to have a good run at promotion in the new year.

The Verdict

Another young player joining the club from Europe can only be a positive thing for the club and young Buendia looks like a top prospect.

If Leeds can pull of another coup like this, then there is every chance they will have a squad capable of challenging for the title come May.
