Leeds United are set to make their second signing of the transfer window as Mateusz Bogusz touches down in the UK to finalise the deal, which will see him join Marcelo Bielsa's revolution at Elland Road.

Journalist Phil Hay reported yesterday that a deal for the Poland Under-19 international was imminent, a fact backed up by his Instagram story which saw him posing by a plane as he was on his way to Yorkshire to seal the deal, as tweeted by HITC's Dan Coombs.

It seems that an announcement is likely today, subject to the pending medical being completed. That will make him the second player to sign for the Whites this January. They've already added keeper Kiko Casilla and remain in the hunt for Swansea City wide man Daniel James.

Bogusz will likely go into the Under 23 squad at first, he's just 17-years-old but has been viewed as a special talent by his parent club Ruch Chorzow.

He's made 34 senior appearances for them scoring six times. His favoured position is the 'ten' role, an area Leeds do need to strengthen following the departure of Samu Saiz at the end of 2018.

The Verdict

Could it be that Bogusz is actually being earmarked for a role in the first team? Bielsa has put a lot of faith in youth this season and the 17-year-old does play the exact position they need recruitments in.

One thing is for certain, they're signing an exciting young player of huge potential. He has to live up to that, but working with the coaches in the Under 23 squad will be a big benefit. You only have to look at Clarke, Halme, Roberts and Davis to see how impressive the people working with Leeds' youngsters are.
