Personal terms have been agreed as Leeds United edge closer to the signing of Linfield youngster Charlie Allen, according to Football Insider.
The Whites are expected to strengthen their squad this summer as they remain on the cusp of promotion to the Premier League, with the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign in limbo.
But Allen, who is set to become Leeds’ first signing, is undoubtedly one for the future, with the Linfield starlet set to arrive at Elland Road.
Have these 15 players been capped at senior international level?
The young forward has been a key player for David Healy over the past year, and made his debut at the age of only 15 last term.
The attacker has been attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Spurs of late, but Leeds looked to have won the race for the youngster.
Allen is set to put pen to paper on an initial scholarship deal, which will turn into a professional first-team deal when he turns 17 in November.
Allen looks to be a really big talent, and it’s a huge statement of intent from Leeds beating the likes of Liverpool and Man United to the attacker’s signature.
Leeds have a plethora of talented youngsters coming through the ranks at Elland Road, and the hope will be that Allen can hit the ground running and continue to develop.
He could be one for the future, and this is no doubt an exciting addition.
