Leeds United owner demanding £4-5 million for player amid interest from European clubs

There is a great deal of interest from Italian clubs in bringing back Leeds defender Giuseppe Bellusci to his homeland, with Serie A clubs closely monitoring the Italian, according to Inside Futbol (via Sky Italia).

There are a number of clubs reportedly interested, with a concrete enquiry coming in from Hellas Verona, but price may be a stumbling block for any potential January move.

Cellino is reportedly demanding a fee in the region of £4m-£5m, which seems an unlikely figure for the Italian club to reach, so negotiations will have to take place if any deal is to go through.

The 26-year-old arrived at Elland Road from Catania for a fee of £1.6 million in the summer of 2014, and has gone on to make 43 appearances, scoring 3 goals.

The defender has not always been a fans favourite, with on and off the pitch issues creating a more hostile relationship.

Last season he pulled out of a match day squad, as well as blasting the fans on social media, so a move away from Steve Evans’ side wouldn’t come as a huge surprise.

Leeds currently sit 13th in the Championship, and are safely mid-table. Evans would hope that any money generated by the potential sale of Bellusci would be reinvested into the squad to ensure they can be very competitive at the top end of the league next campaign.
