Leeds United are considering offering experienced defender Kieran Richardson a chance of redemption after being released by Aston Villa, according to the paper edition of the Sunday Mirror (4th September 2016).
Despite vast experience in the Premier League, Kieran Richardson’s reputation has been tarnished as he was part of an Aston Villa side that suffered relegation last season.
Earlier in the summer, Richardson was linked with a move to Midland rivals Birmingham City, however, the move didn’t come to fruition.
Instead, Championship rivals Leeds United have reportedly shown their interest in signing the free agent as they look to continue to strengthen their side, notably in the defensive areas.
With the versatility to play at both left back and right back, it could be an astute signing for Leeds to make, if Garry Monk can help Richardson eradicate the errors that have plagued him when he played for Aston Villa last season.
In the Championship, Kieran Richardson could be a solid low-risk option particularly for Leeds United who are looking to bring in defensive reinforcements having struggled to do so during the transfer window.
