Leeds United have confirmed that Pawel Cibicki has left the club to join Polish side Pogoń Szczecin on a permanent deal.

Cibicki had previously been on loan with Dutch side ADO Den Haag, but briefly returned to Elland Road to finalise a permanent exit from the Yorkshire-based club.

The 26-year-old only made ten appearances for Leeds in his time with the Championship side, and he had spent the last couple of seasons out on loan away from Elland Road.

So, it won't come as a surprise to plenty of Leeds supporters, as the winger wasn't anywhere near their first team plans.

Cibicki hasn't featured for Leeds since Marcelo Bielsa took charge of the Whites, and it seemed highly unlikely that he would ever be able to force his way into their starting XI anytime soon.

The Whites are currently sat second in the Championship table, and will be hoping that they can find some consistency in their results, after they were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Leeds are next in action at the weekend when they travel to Loftus Road to take on QPR, in what could potentially be a tricky test for Marcelo Bielsa's men.

The Verdict:

I'm not surprised by this at all.

Cibicki hasn't been anywhere near the Leeds first team in recent seasons, and it's the best move for both parties to move him on permanently this month.

It'll be interesting to see whether the Whites managed to get much fo a fee for Cibicki, and if they have, then the Elland Road faithful will be hoping that they can reinvest the money into any potential arrivals during the January transfer window.
