Leeds United have confirmed that out-of-favour defender Laurens De Bock has joined Dutch side ADO Den Haag on loan until the rest of the season.

De Bock has not featured for the Whites since the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa last summer and spent the first half of the season on loan with Sunderland.

The left-back made 1o appearances for the Black Cats but struggled to make much of an impact for the first team and cut short his loan early as it is understood he was keen to move closer to his homeland Belgium.

It appears he has now sealed such a move, as Leeds announced today that he would be joining ADO Den Haag until the end of the season.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle's James Hunter, an option-to-buy has been included in the deal.

In a statement on the club website, the Whites noted: "We wish Laurens well for the rest of the campaign."

De Bock joins the side in the midst of a relegation battle, though they will no doubt hope that the recent arrival of new manager Alan Pardew can turn things around.

This latest move is the 27-year-old's third loan spell in the last two seasons, having previously joined Sunderland and KV Oostende.

The Verdict

This seems like a good move for all involved. De Bock must've had a frustrating time in England, having become an outcast at Leeds after just half a season there.

Hopefully, a move back away from English football is what he needs to get his career back on track.

You'd imagine that Leeds will be keen to offload the defender, whose current deal is set to expire in 2022, on a permanent basis in the summer.
