Leeds have confirmed that youngster Robbie Gotts has signed a new deal with the club that will keep him at Elland Road until the summer of 2022.

The 19-year-old is the latest academy graduate to commit his long-term future to the Whites, with the club announcing the new deal on their website today.

Gotts is very highly-rated at Leeds and even though he hasn't made an appearance for Marcelo Bielsa's side this season, he has been on the bench at various times.

He was last involved as part of the matchday 18 when Leeds faced Norwich in a huge top-of-the-table fixture at the start of the month.

However, his game time has come in Carlos Corberan's U23 outfit, who currently lead the Professional Development League North, with the teenager crucial to that successful campaign so far.

Capable of playing in central midfield or down the right flank, Gotts is a very tidy player on the ball and has clearly caught the eye of the coaching staff, with the club rewarding him with a new deal.

The Verdict

This is very good news for the club and the player as Gotts is very talented and has plenty of potential.

From his perspective, it shows he is doing very well at the moment and he can now have real ambitions of breaking into the first-team over the next few years.

Meanwhile, Leeds have moved quickly to tie down another exciting prospect from their very good academy that is producing a lot of quality right now.
