Leeds United complete move for 25-year-old Premier League defender

Published

Leeds United have officially confirmed the signing of Swansea City’s centre half Kyle Bartley on a season-long loan.

Leeds have shown that they are heavily mobilised in the transfer market and it appears that Garry Monk is keen to recruit earlier in the summer which will allow the side to gel over pre-season.

The new manager is looking to strengthen Leeds United’s defence, alongside the arrival of Kyle Bartley, Leeds United are also keen to sign Watford’s Joel Ekstrand on a free transfer.

This news comes following Giuseppe Bellusci’s departure from Leeds United to return to Italy.

Not only does Kyle Bartley have heavy experience in both the Championship and Premier League, the 25-year-old also has a point to prove after falling out of favour at Swansea City.

Monk is looking to shape the squad with players that he has previously worked with and can trust as he looks to move away from Steve Evan’s vision of Leeds United, and the arrival of Kyle Bartley is a sign of that.

Leeds United fans, how do you feel about the news? Are you pleased by the arrival of Kyle Bartley? Is he the calibre of signing you want Leeds to be making?
