Reports in the Italian media are expecting Leeds United to quickly wrap up a permanent deal for loan star Pontus Jansson.
Toro.it have reported that Jansson’s 20th appearance has activated a clause in his contract which means that Leeds will complete his signing shortly.
Whilst many speculated that it was an “option to buy” clause, this report is instead suggesting that it is an “obligation to buy” at €4m (£3.41m).
This clause was activated after Jansson played his 20th game for high-flying Leeds against Rotherham on the 2nd January.
With the Italian transfer window set to open today (3rd January), Leeds are expected to complete the permanent deal for Jansson imminently.
The Sweden international, who is on loan from Torino, has been a hit with fans so far with powerful defensive displays as well as contributing two goals.
The 25-year-old is a 6’5” man mountain of a centre back, who has formed a strong partnership with fellow loanee Kyle Bartley.
