It appears that Leeds United are closing in on a deal to sign Inter Milan pair Facundo Colidio and Ryan Nolan for a fee between €8-10m.

Leeds will watch the transfer window slam shut tomorrow afternoon, with Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa desperately working on a handful of deals to strengthen the side for the 2019/20 campaign.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, two of those names are Colidio and Nolan of Inter, with the young pair of interest to Elland Road chiefs.

The Italian report claims that a deal is ‘close to white smoke’, indicating that things are on track, with a fee between €8-10m touted.

It’s noted that the structure of the deal for forward, Colidio, would have to be negotiated, but Nolan would be expected to join Leeds on a permanent deal.

Colidio hasn’t featured in Serie A for the Inter first-team, but he boasts an impressive goalscoring record at youth level both domestically and on the international stage, with the forward representing Argentina.

For Nolan, the 20-year-old Irishman is also awaiting his first outing of the Inter senior side, but the centre-back has regularly featured for the club’s youth team.

The Verdict

Whilst these two additions might not impact the first-team at Leeds right away – much to the frustration of fans – this looks like it could be a good deal in the future.

Big emphasis has gone on strengthening Leeds’ academy in recent years, and throwing millions at this pair is a sign that will continue for the Whites, despite the need for first-team additions.

Marcelo Bielsa has blooded numerous youngsters, and under his coaching umbrella, Leeds will hope Colidio and Nolan can make a first-team impact before long, particularly given the outlay of this potential deal.
