Leeds United are chasing a spot in the playoff Championship playoff places this season, with boss Thomas Christiansen attempting to guide the Whites to a Premier League return in his first year in charge at Elland Road.

The Dane is keen to improve his squad, and suggested that a new striker could be on the agenda this month, during his pre-match press conference shared by Leeds Live.

The West Yorkshire outfit lie outside the top-six on goal difference alone, and victory at Ipswich Town this afternoon would ensure a return into the playoff places.

The club have proven prolific in front of goal this term with thirty-seven goals, but Christiansen suggested to Leeds Live that a striker could be on his winter wishlist.

“That could be a possibility,” the Dane told journalists.

“As I said the market is very difficult right now, but if it helps the team, of course.”

The Verdict

Leeds have been fortunate in the fact their midfield goal scorers have stepped up to the mark this season, but Christiansen’s summer striking signings have completed flopped over the course of the first half of the campaign.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Pawel Cibicki and Jay-Roy Grot have all failed to adapt to the demands of English football, and Christiansen must address this issue this month.

Should he find the right man to begin to find the back of the net on a regular basis, then Leeds will surely finish in the top six this season.
