Leeds United suffered their second defeat of the season when they lost to Cardiff City in the week and have moved out of the automatic positions as a result.

The Whites started poorly and weren't helped with captain Liam Cooper getting sent off for a stupid second yellow.

However, it can't detract from a fantastic start to the season for Thomas Christiansen's men, who face another crunch fixture this Sunday.

Leeds will make the short journey to Hillsborough where they face a Sheffield Wednesday side who are extremely low on confidence.

The Owls were embarrassed by Sheffield United on their own patch last weekend and fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Birmingham in the week, with the pressure significantly increasing on Carlos Carvalhal.

It's sure to be a physical and intense fixture, with Leeds coming unstuck in similar circumstances at Cardiff and Millwall.

Yet, Christiansen is adamant his side will cope.

We are ready for everything. I believe that the team responded in the proper way from our defeat in Millwall. We're going to do the same against Sheffield Wednesday,he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Verdict

The manner of the defeats at The Den and in Cardiff will concern Leeds fans ahead of another demanding test this weekend.

Although, there couldn't be a better time to play Wednesday with Carvalhal under major scrutiny. The crowd may turn quickly if the visitors impose themselves on the game.

Christiansen will be expecting a big reaction from his players too.
