Leeds United begin laying the foundations to sign loan star on a permanent deal

Skybet Championship side Leeds United have begun laying the foundations to sign Sporting Lisbon’s French forward Hadi Sacko on a permanent basis, according to Football Insider.

The 22-year-old forward joined Leeds from the Portuguese giants and has quickly become a fan favourite amongst the Elland Road faithful.

Sacko’s pace, power and direct nature has had Leeds fans on the edge of their seats at Elland Road and the French forward, who was on the fringes of Sporting Lisbon’s first team, has reciprocated the support of both the fans and the club, stating that his wishes may well be to extend his stay at Leeds United.

As well as explicitly stating that he wishes to remain a Leeds United player beyond the summer, Sacko’s agent has begun laying the foundations to facilitate Sacko’s move from Sporting Lisbon to Leeds United on a permanent basis.

Sacko’s agent has already been in touch with his parent club in an attempt to broker an agreement that would suit the Championship side.

While the forward’s release clause is reportedly £54m, Football Insider claim that he is unlikely to cost anywhere near that amount given his lack of game time in Portugal.

If Hadi Sacko continues to impress, it is looking increasingly likely that a permanent move could well be on the cards if Leeds United are willing to offer Sporting Lisbon an appropriate amount.

Leeds United fans, how do you feel about the news? Would you like to see Hadi Sacko move to Leeds United permanently? Is he the calibre of player that Leeds United needs? Should Leeds look to secure a permanent deal as soon as possible? Is he a regular first team player in your opinion? Let us hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
