Leeds United striker Adrian Balboa is set to depart Elland Road this summer before the closing of the transfer window.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT via HITC, the 20-year-old centre forward, who failed to make a single appearance for the Lilywhites in England’s second flight last season, is ready to leave Leeds United for Terrassa FC.

Barcelona based side Terrassa FC play in the third tier of Spanish football, and have showed interest in signing the young forward.

Balboa, who signed for Leeds last summer from U.D Unificacion Bellvitge, spent his spell at Elland Road largely playing for the Under-23 side throughout last campaign.

The Spaniard never got a chance to show his potential in the first team last season, and doesn’t look set to be given a shot by now Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa.

The Verdict

While it is disappointing that Adrian Balboa has never made a first team appearance for Leeds United, the fact he looks set for a move to the Spanish third division may suggest he might not have been good enough for the Championship.

Leeds have started the 2018/19 Championship campaign off extremely brightly, and will be hoping to continue that throughout the season.

Bielsa has his side, which is full of new signings, playing strong, free flowing football, but Adrian Balboa will not be a part of that this season it seems.
