Leeds and Sunderland are one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on promising youngster, Jake Hastie at Motherwell according to the Daily Record.

It is also thought that Norwich City and West Brom are also tracking the winger, who is evidently highly sought after this year.

It was revealed by Record Sport, that Leeds and Sunderland had scouts in attendance to watch Hastie in action in Motherwell's game against St Mirren in midweek.

They would have been impressed as well, with the 19-year-old netting a fantastic goal to open the scoring on the night, in a game which his side ran out narrow 2-1 winners.

Hastie has made five first-team appearances for the Scottish side this season, and spent the first-half of this year's campaign out on loan at Alloa.

It is thought that Motherwell are keen to tie the youngster down to a long-term contract, but they are still some distance away from agreeing a deal with Hastie.

He could also be available for a cut price development fee at the end of the season, which has raised interest from a number of English clubs.

It remains to be seen as to whether any of the clubs interested will submit formal offers for Hastie, but it's certainly one to keep an eye on as we head towards the end of the season.

The Verdict:

It's no surprise to see him attracting interest.

He's an exciting talent that could be a star player for any of the team's interested in the future and it would be the ideal time to sign him.

It's a smart bit of business as he could be signed for a considerably lower fee than originally planned in the summer.
