Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday interested in move for impressive attacking midfielder

Championship sides Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United are interested in striking a deal to bring Peterborough’s talented attacking midfielder Marcus Maddison into the club, according to Peterborough Today.
Maddison would be the second player to depart London Road this January, following the disappointing but inevitable departure of key man and star striker Conor Washington to Championship side Queens Park Rangers, for a fee believed to be in the region of around £2.5 million.
When quizzed on the huge interest surrounding his squad this January, manager Graeme Westley stated: “Lots of big clubs are watching our players right now. And everyone knows that we won’t stand in anyone’s way if the deal is good for our club and for the player.”
There is no doubt that owner Darragh MacAnthony will be keen to reinvest, and with midfielder Chris Forrester a target for Brian McDermott’s Reading, and Maddison also possibly on the way out, Posh would have brought in around £7 million in transfer funds, which could help bolster the squad in a bid to book a return to the Championship.
Posh currently sit in sixth place in the Sky Bet League One table, having accumulated 41 points from 26 league games this season.
