The 23-year-old was in fine form for the Iron last season, notching an impressive 23 goals in a season which saw him earn the top scorer award in League Two.

Winnall has been linked with a move away all summer, and Sky Bet League One side Barnsley had a bid rejected for the striker a few days ago.

Dave Hockaday's Leeds United are eager to add more firepower to their frontline before the new season, and are eyeing  a move for the Wolverhampton born forward.

Nigel Clough's Sheffield United are also monitoring the situation of Winnall, as Clough is also keen to bolster his attacking options before the start of the new season.

Scunthorpe are attempting to offer their star striker a new deal at the club, however the lure of playing for a bigger club such as Leeds or Sheffield United could prove too tempting.
