Sky Bet Championship outfit Brentford are preparing to lose star midfielder Toumani Diagouraga amid interest from Leeds United and Rangers, according to HITC.

Diagouraga was excellent in guiding the Bees to the Championship semi-finals last season, and his impressive form has subsequently caught the attention of a number of clubs.

Brentford are understandably reluctant to let him go however, having seen the defensive midfielder voted Player of the Year by the club's fans following some excellent performances.

The 28-year old is thought to be a target of new Leeds boss Uwe Rosler, having worked with the Frenchman during his spell in charge of Brentford between 2011 and 2013.

Leeds United will have to compete with another former Brentford manager in Mark Warburton, who is keen to be reunited with the midfielder at his new club Rangers, as they aim to return to the Scottish Premiership.

New Brentford manager Marinus Dijkhuizen will be looking to hold on to the player however, as he hopes to build on the club's play-off achievement of last season and reach the Premier League.

Leeds United would undoubtedly benefit from the signing of the defensive midfielder, especially after Jamaican international Rodolph Austin departed Elland Road at the end of last season - and he would help complement new signing Tom Adeyemi well in the heart of midfield at the club.

Brentford fans..... What do you make of this news? Just how good is Diagouraga? Would it be a massive loss if he did move to either Leeds or Rangers? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
